MBIF DC Kominek's Play the Game of Thrones SC

Cersei is the puppy we kept from our first litter, the Game of Thrones litter. Cersei was the first born, and was the largest puppy in the litter. From the beginning, Cersei was confident in the belief that she was "it." She was the puppy you could not unlatch from a nipple, the hardy, voracious survivor who thrived. We jokingly called her "bulldozer" as she was such a big, vigorous pup. However, as the weeks passed, the real Cersei emerged. This once squatty, fat infant pup sprouted long elegant legs, a beautiful Roman muzzle, and incredible almond eyes. This picture was completed with a perfect, natural, ring tail. She was nicely square with a good front. As we made our weekly evaluations starting from week four with their baby stacks on the table (with much cheese involved!), Cersei consistently caught our eye. She was our pick! We named her Cersei as she was a force of nature to be reckoned with like the character in the Game of Thrones series, and her name comes from a quote in the books where queen Cersei bluntly states:

"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground."

She has been our princess, and her happy, joyful personality has made her heavenly to live with.

In terms of her show career to this point, Cersei has been quite successful, and we have been honored by her wins. She obtained her first points on the weekend she turned six months old, over some nice adult competition. She has an all breed Best in Match, with close to 200 puppies and adults competing, at the Moore County Kennel Club Match in North Carolina. She won a Reserve Winner's Bitch to a specialty Major at Richmond AHC, and has multiple Sweeps wins. She won a Best of Breed over nice specials competition for her first major at the MAHA hound specialty show and made the small cut in a very competitive hound group. Cersei went on to finish her conformation championship in June 2012 at the age of 12 months with 3 majors! She made the first breed cut at our National in October 2012 at the age of 17 months, and has multiple points toward her Grand Champion title. We are giving her a little time to grow up, but plan to selectively special her as time allows.

Cersei has done very well on the coursing field, finishing her Field Championship in short order. She has 3 Best in Fields to her credit so far!

We are very proud of her, she represents the future of Kominek Afghan Hounds, and she truly is our queen.
